A reading edition,
with room to understand.
Start with a link. Find a source you can read. Turn your own imported text into a comfortable newspaper-style page.
Keep the good stuff.
Save articles, find access, and keep your notes together.
One article. Several routes.
Try library access, an authorised invitation, an open version or an existing archive capture.
What works, and what depends.
These notes retain the 16 October research history. Camden NewsBank text access was verified on 17 October; the Times video remains unresolved. See the current demo guide for that update. No single method guarantees every article.
Read here. Keep your copy.
Start with the Times article
- Choose the Times article in Your library, then select Find access.
- Try your own library or publisher access. Camden’s exact Times text route is listed; its NewsBank copy did not include the playable video. An archive hit alone does not establish a full article.
- Once you can read the text, use the companion capture extension, import a text file, or paste the text you are entitled to keep.
- Compare the saved text with the original. Mark it complete only after checking. Your notes and saved text work offline after the app has prepared its offline copy.
Keep your library
Your text and notes stay in this browser’s storage. Backups are private JSON files and include Trash, notes, highlights and saved access checks. Large libraries are split into numbered parts; restore each part before clearing browser data, changing browser/profile or moving devices. Browser storage is not encrypted by this app. Use device protection for sensitive material.
The offline app shell is preparing.
Portable HTML contains the app and research, not your library. Use Back up everything to move your articles, including Trash. Native file sharing depends on your browser; the fallback downloads a file for manual attachment.
Capture extension
The supplied Chromium extension reads the visible article or your selected passage when clicked. It has temporary access to the active tab and permission to run the capture. It cannot log in for you or recover text a publisher has not supplied.
- Unzip the Read EveryThing package.
- In Chrome or Edge, open Extensions → Manage extensions → Developer mode → Load unpacked.
- Choose the package’s extension folder.
- Open an article you can read, click Read EveryThing’s extension icon, then Capture this page.
- Review the captured title and text, choose Download reviewed capture, then import the JSON here and choose Save reviewed import.
Browser settings pages and other protected browser surfaces cannot be captured. No extension has been installed on your behalf. The package targets desktop Chrome/Edge; Firefox, Safari and phone extension support have not been validated.
Android sharing
After installing the PWA through a supported Android browser, choose Share on a page and look for Read EveryThing. A shared link opens a review form; it does not automatically contain the article text. You can also share selected text, or paste a readable passage.

Install on Android or iPhone
Open the public HTTPS Read EveryThing link in your phone’s main browser. The app needs no ChatGPT login; sign into a library or publisher only on that provider’s site. On Android Chrome, use the browser menu → Add to Home screen → Install, or the app’s Install button when offered. On iPhone Safari, use Share → Add to Home Screen and enable Open as Web App if shown. Open the new icon once online so its offline copy can finish.
Android sharing into installed PWAs depends on browser support. On iPhone, copy and paste the link or text into Add article. An OS share-sheet target has not been verified on iPhone. Your library belongs to this address, browser and device; it is not automatically synced. Use Back up everything and Import to move it.
Local launcher
On this Mac, keep the local launcher running and open the app in Chrome or Edge. Use Install app if offered, or the browser’s install menu. A localhost install remains on this Mac. A phone needs its own supported local setup or an authorised HTTPS deployment; this package is not a remotely accessible service.
